Ticker Navigator
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026 · Contact: privacy@tickernavigator.com
This policy explains what personal data Ticker Navigator collects, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. We keep it short and plain — if anything is unclear, write to privacy@tickernavigator.com.
Who we are
Ticker Navigator (tickernavigator.com) is operated by Balint Haui, Hungary, who is the data controller for the personal data described here.
Contact for anything privacy-related: privacy@tickernavigator.com.
What we collect
Your account. Email address, an optional username, and your password — stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash, never in readable form. We also keep your plan and its dates (free trial, subscription, renewal or expiry), when you signed up, and whether you agreed to receive marketing emails.
What you create in the app. Watchlists, portfolios and positions, capital entries and the contributor names you type in, saved Analyzer strategies, calendar events, notes and your settings (such as your second currency, time zone and dashboard layout).
Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; we receive Stripe's customer and subscription references, the plan and the payment dates.
Using the app. When you are signed in we record when you were last active, and the approximate country and city derived from your IP address together with your browser language, so we can support you and understand where our users are. We do not keep your IP address for this.
Visit statistics on our public pages. For our own landing-page statistics we use a cookieless method: a visitor is counted with a one-way code made from the IP address and browser details mixed with a random value that changes every day, so a visit cannot be traced back to an IP address or linked across days. We record the approximate country and city, network provider, browser and device type, language, where the visit came from (for example a search engine or an ad campaign), pages viewed and time spent. Raw IP addresses are not stored, and nothing is saved on your device for these statistics.
Server logs. Like any website, our web server briefly logs requests (IP address, time, requested address and browser) for security and troubleshooting.
Messages you send us, for example to support or to this address.
Cookies and browser storage
- Essential: a session cookie keeps you signed in. The app works only with it.
- Preferences: your browser's local storage remembers things like chart periods, widget choices and your cookie choice. These stay on your device.
- Ad measurement (Google Ads): to measure whether our own ads lead to sign-ups, we use Google's conversion tag. In the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland its advertising cookies are used only after you click Accept on our cookie banner; elsewhere they are on unless you click Decline. You can change your choice by clearing this site's data in your browser.
- Advertising (Google AdSense) — see the next section.
- Fonts: some pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers.
Advertising
Our free, ad-supported plan shows ads served by Google AdSense. Paid plans show no ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- How Google uses data from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Visitors in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, through a consent message that follows Google's requirements.
Why we use your data, and our legal bases
- To provide the service you signed up for — your account, your data in the app, billing and service emails such as password resets (performance of a contract).
- To keep the service secure, fix problems and understand how it is used — server logs and the cookieless statistics above (our legitimate interests).
- Ad measurement, personalised advertising and marketing emails — only where you have agreed (consent), which you can withdraw at any time.
- Keeping payment records as tax and accounting law requires (legal obligation).
We never sell your personal data.
Emails
We send service emails you need — account details, password resets and messages about your plan. If you tick the box when starting a free trial, we may also send reminders and offers about Ticker Navigator; every such email lets you opt out, or write to us and we will stop.
Who we share data with
Only with service providers that help us run Ticker Navigator, each under its own data-protection terms:
- OVHcloud — hosts our server (located in Sydney, Australia) and our email.
- Stripe — processes payments and subscriptions.
- Google — ad measurement (Google Ads), advertising (AdSense), fonts, and aggregated search statistics for our site (Search Console).
Market data providers we use for stock prices and company figures receive no personal data. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
International transfers
Our server is in Australia, and some providers (such as Stripe and Google) process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where personal data leaves the EU/EEA, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
- Account and app data: for as long as you have an account. When you ask us to delete your account we delete it together with your watchlists, portfolios and settings.
- Visit statistics: up to 200 days, then deleted automatically.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Server logs and backups: a limited period, after which they are overwritten.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to privacy@tickernavigator.com; we answer within one month. Wherever you live, you are welcome to make the same requests.
You can also complain to a data-protection authority — in Hungary, the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH), or the authority where you live.
Security
All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, and access to the server and database is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect your data.
Children
Ticker Navigator is a financial research tool intended for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect children's data.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top. For significant changes we will also let signed-up users know by email or in the app.
